People Wait for End of World in a Cave in Russia

While some people wait for the premiere of the doomsday movie 2012, there are some who actually wait for the end of the world. In Russia, a group of people have shut themselves out from the rest of the world by staying inside a cave to wait for doomsday. Part of the cave's roof has already collapsed and authorities are worried about the welfare of the people, which includes children, who have chosen to stay inside.

Vents for air circulation have been put in place, but the danger remains for the people inside the cave. Doomsday cults often isolate themselves and adopt a communal way of life for a certain period of time before doing something drastic like mass suicide. In this case, it's waiting for the end.

Superheroes in Movies No Longer Serious?

Superheroes in movies used to be serious. Remember the drama in the classic Superman: the Movie and the romance in Spider-Man? And what about the dark mood of Batman Begins?

With this spoof from the Scary Movie producers, what will become of the superhero franchise in movies? What will we be watching next? What will our kids be watching next?

As a parting note, we should always be mindful of guiding our kids about playing superhero so that they aren't hurt by being too physical with one another.

Eric Bana to Play Bad Guy in New Trek Movie

Eric Bana, who played The Hulk in Ang Lee's movie, will now play the villain, Nero, in the upcoming Star Trek movie, a prequel to the original series which will showcase a young cast for the well known crew of the Starship Enterprise.

The old Star Trek cast of William Shatner (Captain Kirk), Leonard Nimoy (Spock), James Doohan (Scotty), Nichelle Nichols (Uhura), George Takei (Sulu), and DeForest Kelley (McCoy) was once replaced by the Next Generation of actors when the cult science-fiction series was revived.

Now, even their characters will be replaced by a younger generation of actors for the latest movie. Kirk, Spock, Scotty, Uhura, Sulu, and McCoy will now be played by Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, and Karl Urban respectively. I must say casting for director J.J. Abrams must have been difficult. You have to get the look, personality, and character right for thousands of fans out there. Did he get it right?
