One of the strangest events to have happened recently in connection with extraterrestrial objects is the impact site or crater made by a meteorite that crashed in Peru. It has left a huge crater that filled with water and released noxious fumes that sickened the people of a nearby village. It almost seems like a science-fiction movie, but it's real and is now making the area a tourist attraction, in spite of the effects of the crater. View the videos that follow.

Meteor Crash Makes Peruvian Village Sick
A large meteorite which left a hundred-foot-wide crater near a village in Peru has sickened people who inhaled strange fumes from the crater it left. The crater itself expelled boiling water. The fall coincided with the Perseid meteor shower which periodically comes in August, but the true nature of the extraterrestrial object is yet to be determined.
Go to Macrocosm Magbook to view a picture of comet Swift-Tuttle, which is associated with the Perseid meteor shower.
