Actress Zoe Saldana of Pirates of the Carribean fame will be seen as Lt. Uhura in the new Star Trek movie. Uhura is the communications officer of the starship Enterprise commanded by Captain James T. Kirk. She was played in the original series and in the movies by Nichelle Nichols, who's been honored together with Star Trek creator and co-star George Takei with asteroids bearing their name.
